ZONE
CHAMPIONSHIPS – 4-Man, 2 Better Ball
ELIGIBILITY: NCGA
regular member clubs only (one team). Multi-members can only represent one
club. No players under 18 years of age. A numeric handicap index listed on their
club’s Master Report on the date of registration not to exceed 36.4.
SCGC CLUB QUALFYING RULES: Any eligible player that wishes to try to
represent the club must pay the additional entry fee and inform the tournament
committee prior to teeing off on the first hole of Round 1 of the qualifier. The 3 lowest net 36-hole individual scores
(or alternates) will join the prior year’s Clara Cup winner to make up the
team.
FORMAT: Best
two balls of four. Play will be 90% of the course handicap using a maximum
handicap index of 18.4 for calculation. All players with handicap indexes of
18.5 or above are eligible but must play to a maximum current handicap index of
18.4.
FOUR-BALL NET
CHAMPIONSHIP – 2-Man Better Ball
ELIGIBILITY: NCGA

represent the club must pay the additional fee and inform the tournament
committee prior to teeing off on the first hole of Round 1 of the qualifier. The team with the lowest net 2-Man score (or
alternates) will qualify.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES: Clubs
are entitled, but not required, to submit a specific number of teams based on
their active golfing membership as of their January 1 Master Report as
shown below. 1 - 2 person team: 20-150
active golfing members 2 - 2 person teams: 151-350 active golfing members 3 - 2
person teams: Over 350 active golfing members
FORMAT: Four-Ball
(Two-Person Better Ball). Qualifying - 18 holes. Championship - 36 holes, 18
holes per day. Play will be 90% of the
course handicap using a maximum handicap index of 18.4 for calculation. All players with handicap indexes of 18.5 and
above are eligible but must play to a maximum handicap index of 18.4. If partners’ course handicaps differ by
more than 8 strokes, an additional 10 percent reduction will be applied to
their course handicaps. One partner may
represent the team for any part or all of a stipulated round for qualifying or
the championship proper.
NET AMATEUR
CHAMPIONSHIP - Individual
ELIGIBILITY: NCGA
Regular Club members ONLY. Multi-members can only represent one club. Players must have a numeric handicap index
listed on their club’s Master Report, not exceeding 36.4 on the date of
registration. No players under 18 years of age.
SCGC CLUB QUALFYING RULES: Any eligible player that wishes to try to
represent the club must pay the additional entry fee and inform the tournament
committee prior to teeing off on the first hole of Round 1 of the qualifier. The 2 lowest net individual scores (or
alternates) will qualify.
FORMAT: Qualifying
- 18 holes. Championship
proper - 36 holes, 18 holes per day. Players will use 100% of their course handicap
at all levels of play.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES: Clubs
are entitled, but not required, to submit a specific number of players based on
their active golfing membership on their January 1 Master Report as
shown below. 2 entries/players: 20-150
active golfing members 4 entries/players: 151-350 active golfing members 6
entries/players: Over 350 active golfing members
FLIGHTS: Flighting is optional at club
qualifying. Qualifying: Not flighted. Championship: Players will be divided
into three flights at the championship proper.
SENIOR FOUR-BALL
NET CHAMPIONSHIP – 2-Man Better Ball
ELIGIBILITY: This is not an official club event; the
club does not subsidize any costs for this event, but will submit the entry
under SCGC and the player’s are responsible for reimbursement of any fees. No players under 55 years of age as of that
year’s Championship 1st round play date.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES: The
club can enter one 2-Man team for this event.
SCGC CLUB QUALFYING RULES: The
club qualifying round is different for this “unofficial” event. Any eligible player that wishes to try to
represent the club must inform the tournament committee prior to teeing off on
the first hole the first hole of the qualifier (no additional fee is collected.) The two lowest net individual scores (or
alternates) will make up the team.
FORMAT: Four-Ball
(Two-Person Better Ball). Qualifying - 18 holes. Championship - 36 holes, 18 holes per day.
Play will be 90% of the course handicap.
For the NCGA Qualifying round, but if the team qualifies for the finals,
players with handicap indexes of 18.5 and above are eligible but must play to a
maximum handicap index of 18.4. If partners’ course handicaps differ by
more than 8 strokes, an additional 10 percent reduction will be applied to
their course handicaps. One partner may
represent the team for any part or all of a stipulated round for qualifying or
